Belated Expo Update XD

First off, how was everyone’s Halloween? Hope you guys had a good time, cause I sure as hell didn't! XD
Charlie and I re-used our Hunk and Ada Wong cosplays for Halloween, and I swear, never wearing Hunk in the pitch dark again. I managed to walk into more than one bin, subsequent to being violently and murderously attacked by tree branches.
So when we (Charlie, Friend Stephen and myself) made it to wherever we were going, it was apparently a house party, but of course I couldn't tell since the moment I walked in, my gas mask fogged up to holy hell and had to be led through a sea of drunken wowing people.
(On a side note, I forgot to mention that after braving the entire expo weekend unscathed, Hunk's red lenses managed to fall out IN THE BAG which meant a trip to Tesco's to buy some glue of which we all got ID'ed and then promptly insulted by the girl working there. *takes breath*)
SO.
House parties...what’s the definition? When an adolescent hosts a gathering of similarly aged adolescents to drunkenly converse, accompanied closely by food and drink. Well we got the adolescent part right. Shame about the 0% food and drink. Needless to say we didn't stay long.
Went back to Stephens flat, and was then thrown out because he was too tired. Like he couldn't have let us wait until Charlie’s mum picked us up (Note by this time its 1:45 AM and fucking freezing outside)
So we were evicted, actually managed to find Charlie's mum, and I was comatosed.

Could have had a better night inside playing videogames and drinking with my woman!.

MOVING ON TO THE REAL REASON OF THIS JOURNAL.

London MCM Expo! Was...less spectacular than I was hoping for.
Don't get me wrong, seeing everyone again was absolutely amazing and by far the best part of expo as a whole. But I simply didn't get the same buzz from expo this year, of which there were many reasons for, but I’ll start at the start.

On the Thursday before Expo weekend, Charlie, Darran and I quite literally stayed up all night to finish our cosplays which consisted of an unfinished Prince of Persia and Sword, A -really- unfinished and disgustingly complicated Elika, and one Allen Walker sword that was so heavy it could have left a crater in the concrete if dropped.
we made a deadline of 5AM to finish cosplays as much as possible and pack our bags at the same time. Bless Charlie's mum who stayed up until about 3:30 to help us as much as she possibly could, we couldn't have done it without her.
So before we ordered Darran home to pack his bag and catch a couple hours sleep before driving, 5am came, and Darran arrived with a suitcase big enough to house 1000 mudkips that took up the ENTIRE boot.
So we unpacked his suitcase, re packed it into something smaller, squeezed our cases in to his tiny ford fiesta, managed to get his beast of a sword in too which made the car suspension lower millimetres from the ground with its weight, and headed up to our friend Keir's who was driving down to London in his awesomely efficient diesel car.
2 hours late, we got to Keir's, ate porridge, I sat in a daze of disbelief that my body hadn't shut down yet from tiredness.
Off we went! The drive took longer than expected, and we spent a fortune at the pit-stops on energy drinks and food. We also bought a furry haggis at the Scotland border for our friend from Belgium whom we were meeting at expo and called it 'OM, NOMNOMNOM' It even had a squeaker and was reluctant to part with it.
So we left at about 8am, perhaps 9, and arrived in London at our hotels at 7pm. Keir was amazing the entire way down and hardly needed to stop.

Saturday then came! And I forgot my phone with all it's contacts to find people ><
In the morning I cosplayed my OC Arica, and quite possibly the most comfy cosplay I have ever worn.
Charlie was furiously finishing Elika before the afternoon and the masquerade. We were quite litterally queuing for the masquerade while sewing shin guards onto the Prince and finishing Elika, and then proceeded to argue about what we were going to do onstage during the entry that was on before us.
The highlights of Saturday?
Bumping into :iconda-phase-meister: (ISAAC’S BUM-LOVING CORTANA) :iconredtogusa: :iconfez-kuro: and :iconariandir:
Seeing our friend from Belgium again >w<
And of course THE HALO WARTGOG <3333

The downside of Saturday? No one liked the Prince and Elika despite how much we stressed over them. Saturday was just stress after stress over everything else. And I was too shy to say hello to :iconthe-infamous-padfoot: or :iconruepaw: ><;;;;
Got back to the hotel and I fell asleep. Bah.

SUNDAY.
I thought was going to be a disaster. Not to go into too much detail, but I made the mistake of inviting someone to join my friends and I at expo a few months back, this was before he started to very openly threaten Charlie because he believed I ’belonged’ to him in some sense. I asked some friends what I should do, because I’d never stood someone up before like that and felt really guilty, but by the power of Kit’s hair and everyone’s advice I decided not to meet him.
And he stood outside our hotel for at least 3 hours. Thankfully I was cosplaying Hunk that day and was able to successfully walk past him more than once unnoticed (By god, he was so tall and big it looked like he could break me in two O_O)

I kept my gas mask on most of the day just in case >< And by god thank you so much :iconfyredrakemagick: for your advice on the matter <333

SO! Despite that, Sunday rolled on better than I thought, Charlie and I were Hunk and Ada Wong from Resident Evil that day, Charlie was plain sexy and I felt so badass with my gas mask and gun XD
We found :icon0hamster0: and :icondbldsgang: too >W< Love you guysssss!
I got my hoodie and straighteners back finally, and omg, watched Ruepaw (more than once 8D) up on lego rock singing- You’ve got one hell of a voice! O_O
I followed behind and played drums as Hunk-dhat was fun owo.
We missed the masquerade, but regardless Sunday was much better despite some crap ^___^
In the evening, Darran, Keir, Charlie and I went to the pub, met up with some friends and had a drink till the wee hours of the morning ^^

Monday we went to Camden market. I spent too much (as you do) and then we got back on the road at about 5pm, didn’t arrive back to Scotland till 3am and yea..! That’s it XD
Expo was semi ok, not as good as last year, probably because all Charlie and I did was stress and argue coupled with everything else.
Anywho, see you in May!
And I’ll post *NEW* cosplay updates soon ;D tata

Hello all! ^^

I'm really sorry I haven't been updating x_X been dead since like, May xD;

So London expo is almost upon us!!
It's been a full year since Charlie and I have been there, and we simply can't wait to get back to see everyone! It was such an amazing experience last year and we intend to pull out all the stops this year.
Cosplays are going as planned- perhaps a month or two behind schedule but hey, thats deadlines for you x3

Hunk is practically finished, while Ada, Elika and the Prince are underway...*furiously orders more fabric*

Which due to lack of funds we've not been able to order at an earlier time- it's not been laziness I swear >> <<.

Had a bit of a dillemma in the moneys part of life, as some (or none) of you might have seen on the news that the Scottish Student Funding people messed up big time with everyones student loans and thousands of students were without money to live off; I THOUGHT this applied to me as my balance had been sitting at a mere £20 for almost 3 months after i'd put in my application.
So I was just a BIT like "WHERETHEFUCKISMYMONEYINEEDTOEAT"
Nothing to tragic though ^^;

As well as the fuckery with the student funding, our COLLEGE managed it's own big time fuck up as well; so after being on my course for a week and a half I come home one day to a letter from college saying something along the lines of the following

Dear Miss Adams

We regret to inform you that your position on the HND/3D Animation F2 course has been revoked due to insuficcent funding.

I was a little liek *grabs phone and calls college* "WHATINTHEHELLDOYOUMEANBY-REVOKED?-"
Turns out it was simply a false alarm caused by a screw up in their computer system ^^;;;

So! Back to expo ^^

Apart from being insanely excited to see everyone again, i'm also a bit anxious as theres certain individuals going that Charlie and I would much rather avoid. In short, a run in with these people would more than likely ruin our entire weekend and send us both into a spirral of depression, so we're relying on all the awesome people at expo to keep us on our feet and enjoying ourselves so we're not worriedly looking over our shoulders all the time ><;...

*Endheartpouring*

Another cosplay I plan to do for the morning of expo is my OC Arica, i'm sure i've mentioned it in previous journals, but to prove i've not been slacking over the summer-
Here's a little demo of what i've been working on for this character, and it's got nothing to do with needle+thread ;D

[link]

This is a very brief (and windy) amount of what i've learned =P
I apologize for the quality, it was recorded on the built in webcam, and I also apologize for how rusty
I am using a Bo staff xD; I promise it'll be polished for expo!

Much love guys, and for who is going to London MCM, please say hi!

Update, Update, and something for the Waywards!

Huzzah, here I am, exausted and run down by little old ladies and their shopping baskets.
Codenamed 'WORK'. Nine hours.
Nine hours of talking about the fricken forecast to 261 people, staring at four encolsed walls small enough to be my personal mental ward, and dealing with customers who ask for assistance in the daring prospect of picking up a packet of prunes.
God have mercy on my soul.

*ahem* Now thats out of the way, I'd love to share the shit of the month with all you lovely people who care to withstand these pointless banters xD;
:iconthekinkybeast: and I have begun cosplay preperations for the London Expo in October, and finalized what cosplays we'll be doing ^^ A bit early perhaps, but because we can't attend May we're really looking to make the best of October! So Cosplays are as follows....

Friday: OC Arica for me and Ren from D.E.A.R.S for Charlie
Satruday: Prince of Persia 4! With Charlie as Elika and myself as the Prince
Sunday: Resident Evil 4, hopefully we'll get a friend to cosplay Leon.S Kennedy with Charlie's Ada Wong cosplay and me going as HUNK.

SO...HUNK is pretty well underway for me, and Charlie and I still need to finish Arica before we start on the Prince and Elika which is going to swallow a lot of our summer between full-time work, Ada, and Ren.

Next! I was very pleasantly suprised when I recieved an email from one Thomas Van Laere, who invited me to join a group who are working on a fan-made Zelda game, codenamed: Project Light.
It's all very exciting, and I happy accepted his offer, really hoping I can do my bit for the project ^_^

NOW...Onto the most pressing matter of all.
And this involves you, Waywards!
I recieved something in the mail this morning, and this something struck both utter LOL and sheer HORROR into my household.
Its rather rubbery, rather large, and rather orange.
The only person in the house who doesn't agree that it looks like a falic object is the kitten who has happilly claimed it's use as a scratch pole.

Click if you dare..
[link]

For the love of god, it has sound effects.
So if the guys from Wayward Destiny have ANY value for this item...I'll post him right down and you can have him XD
No really-
Please
Take
It
Away
O_______________O;;

Once again, Thankyou, and goodnight!

WHAT a weekend! I can safely start at the end by saying i'm totally knackered in the best possible way.
Thursday, Charlie and I got our flight down to Southampton, and while she was bouncing in excitement at reaching 35,000 feet for the first time in her life, me, who has been flying on planes for the most part of fourteen years got the worst case of popped ears I have ever experienced XD By golly it was painful..
We stayed with some friends who were attending minami also, and by Friday afternoon I was taking pictures of Voldo and Seras Victor (..No not Victoria. Visit here to see why...> [link]) battling it out over a giant twister mat.

Met up with the wonderful :iconariandir: and :iconfez-kuro: that day also, gawd I missed them ; _ ;
And when reaching the opening ceremony I could safely say that Minami had already kicked ALcons ass XD

Saturday we spent the morning furiously finishing and sewing Links chainmail on to his tunic. Tab is a genius. And so Link (for the LAST TIME DAMMIT) made it to the con. After a day of frolicing, the almighty Master Sword falling apart, and Zelda gleefully snapping photo's of Dark Link groping Link, I entered the masquerade- only after repairing the master sword with some good ol' fashioned hylian elbow grease (..thank god for glue guns)
I was totally and utterly bricking it..but didn't dare show it as the poor guy behind me was shaking like a leaf. And at the end of it all I was deemed "The hero who will save the princess again, and again, and again" by the judges and won a prize! >W<!!
Totally gobsmacked..

On sunday we spent time loitering around..saying hello's and goodbyes, then it was all over! D= Back to cruel, cruel reality.
To all the awesome people who were at minami, were really going to miss you =(

So yes..Reality has hit me full blown in the face, kicked me to the ground and roughed me up a bit. Those rubber bands I was eating in my teeth have been changed to permenant metal bands in preperation for a brace...joy. And some people just don't know when to fucking grow up and think about people other than themselves, completely ignorant to how other people feel. It makes me want to ring necks like a flannel.
That wasn't pointed at all you decent people by the way, forgive me for the rant.

Note: I said decent people.

Much love guys and thankyou for bearing me!

Well..Minamicon is on our doorstep, my Master sword sits next to me bundled in a newspaper, cardboard and a crazy amount of parcel tape (I let Charlie's land lady go apeshit with the tape >> )ready to brave 1st class recorded delivery to southampton.

Officially, the OC I had planned simply wont be done for minami due to both prop restrictions and a whole load of crap going down lately -__- We simply haven't had a minute to do anything mildly cosplay-related, so for the last -that means FINAL time-,
Link will be coming with me for all 3 days *sigh*
..Maybe I could squeeze into a saint seya cosplay with Tab >>;;

Anywho, Due to a bit of a silly trip to London I am now in debt to my mother and for a moment Minami was being called off because I simply had no, and I mean NO money, none, zilch, zooloo.
But my some miraculous miracle, Charlie managed to badger RBS into giving her £100 8D And so we are saved.

So down to Southampton tomorrow! All who will be at Minami, see you there!

And I wan't to give a very, VERY big thankyou to :iconlunielu: For running around after me like a headless chicken and getting me out of London in time to save my job >>;.. I owe you £12 and a glomp.

Much love guys, talk soon!

P.s
Tutor: So c'mon, tell us whats in the parcel.
Phixix: ..A sword.
Tutor: A SWORD eh? What kinda sword?
Phixix: Its the blade of evil's bane.
Tutor: Well...as long as you use your imagination and wave it about while it's in the cardboard.
